Our Center The Los Gatos Center is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), founded in 1920 by our Guru Paramahansa Yogananda to disseminate the universal teachings of Kriya Yoga, a sacred spiritual science originating millenniums ago in India. SRF's international headquarters is in Los Angeles, CA while Paramahansa Yogananda's society is known in India as Yogoda Satsanga Society, or YSS. Who we are The Los Gatos Center serves families and friends throughout Silicon Valley. This area includes Santa Clara county and the neighboring counties of Santa Cruz, San Mateo and Alameda. The Center is open to the public during our services which are held on Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday morning. Services The Los Gatos Center holds regular meditation and reading services on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Sunday morning. We offer Sunday School on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 and up. Everyone is invited to attend our services and special events, and children are encouraged to participate in the Sunday School program. Our philosophy The Los Gatos Center is a branch of Paramahansa Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship. Yogananda’s teachings embody a complete “how to live” philosophy which centers on scientific techniques of concentration and meditation that lead to the direct personal experience of God. Weekly instructional lessons are available to those who would like to study the SRF teachings more deeply. Each lesson is mailed weekly from the SRF international headquarters in Los Angeles, California. These lessons contain techniques for recharging the body, concentration and meditation practices and instruction in Kriya Yoga the highest meditation technique. In addition the lessons contain instructions on how to live a balanced material and spiritual life.
